Manthey
Manthey-Racing GmbH, managed by the brothers Martin and Nicolas Raeder, is located directly at the Nürburgring. The company - in which Porsche holds a 51 percent stake - was founded in 1996 as a racing team by Olaf Manthey. A year later, the portfolio was expanded to include the road division "Manthey Motors". In 2013, the company merged with Raeder Automotive GmbH in order to combine and continue the expertise of both companies.
Milestones in racing history are, above all, the seven victories in the 24h race at the Nürburgring in 2006-2009, 2011, 2018 and 2021. In 2008 there was a double top, in 2009 the victory and third podium place and two years later not only the victory but also the distance record of 156 laps at that time was achieved. Alongside this record, the lap record for road-legal sports cars at the Nürburgring was also broken in 2018. It was a Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR, developed by Manthey-Racing with driver Lars Kern, who completed the 20.832 km of the Nürburgring in the legendary time of 6:40.33 min.
