The 2023 DTM champions are Thomas Preining, Manthey EMA and Porsche. The Porsche customer team and the Stuttgart-based sports car manufacturer secured victory in the overall driver and team standings in their first joint DTM participation.
The Austrian Preining has gone through the classic Porsche Motorsport programme for young racing drivers: he was appointed Porsche Junior in 2017 and won the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany in 2018. In 2019, the Linz native was promoted to Porsche Young Professional and worked as a test and development driver for the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E works team this season. He has been a member of the Porsche works driver squad since 2021 and has been competing in the DTM since 2022. In his second DTM season in 2023, Preining won three races with the Manthey EMA Team, among others, and finally took the drivers' championship crown at the finale at the Hockenheimring.

Manthey
Manthey-Racing GmbH was founded in 1996 by Olaf Manthey. The following year, the company "Manthey-Motors" was added to expand the company portfolio with a division exclusively for road cars. In 2013, the companies Manthey-Motors and Raeder Automotive merged and merged into the newly founded Manthey-Racing GmbH. The brothers Martin and Nicolas Raeder took over the day-to-day business before a majority takeover of the company shares from Dr. Ing. h. c. F. Porsche AG took place in the same year.
