Gulf - the cult brand in blue and orange
The racing team Gulf-Racing is known to every racing fan. The blue-orange colours of the team are particularly formative.
In the 1960s, the deal between the oil company Gulf Oil and Johny Wyer, motorsport engineer and race director, was made. Together, the JW Automotive Engineering team sent the Ford GT 40 into the race.
In 1967, the GT 40 was reworked and given the new, now familiar colours of Gulf-Racing. This vehicle was driven by great racing drivers like Ickx, Oliver, Rodriguez, Hobbs and Bianchi. The team could win one race after the other in this constellation.
In 1970 Porsche built up its own racing program. It sent the Porsche 917 into the race, branded in the official Gulf colors. With this car Jo Siffert even set a new record in Spa: an average speed of 162.08 mph.
Our product range is particularly distinguished by the eye-catching Gulf colours. Some of our products, some of them strictly limited, remind us of Michael Delaney, who played the role of Steve McQueen in the film Le Mans.
