The Porsche 919 Hybrid has enjoyed many racing successes since its release in 2014, including the LeMans 24h race. With its three consecutive victories in 2015, 2016 and 2017, it is considered the most successful model in endurance series racing of the last decade.

In 2018, the 919 Hybrid Evo was designed to honour it. With this version of the Porsche 919, the factory team managed to set impressive lap records on Europe's most famous race tracks. Timo Bernhard showed his incomparable driving skills on the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring. With a new best time of 5:19.546 minutes, the old record was pulverised by 51.58 seconds.
