The Porsche 911, also known as the "Neunelfer" or simply the "Elfer", is Porsche's best-known sports car and is regarded as the epitome of the brand. In the years from 1989 to 1993, an additional roadster-like variant known as the Speedster was produced in small series. This name goes back to the version of the Porsche 356 that appeared in September 1954 with a flat windscreen, slot-in windows in the doors, bucket seats and a fully retractable soft top.
