In the prequalifying for the 24h race of Le Mans 1996, the Porsche AG team started with the Porsche 911 GT1. Under the starting number 25, the drivers Hans Joachim Stuck, Thierry Boutsen and Bob Wollek made it to 11th place. In the main race, the Porsche was more convincing and the team made it to 2nd place overall.
