The Porsche 718 Cayman Type 982 is a mid-engined sports car built by Porsche AG following extensive model upgrades to the Type 981. Porsche itself describes it as the third generation. It has the same technical platform as the Porsche 718 Boxster (Type 982) presented at the beginning of 2016.

The most powerful version of the model series in the meantime was the GT4 variant. It was presented on 18 June 2019 and - in contrast to the predecessor model - received a newly developed six-cylinder boxer engine. Based on the GT4, the RS was presented at the LA Auto Show on 17 November 2021. With the engine from the 992.1 GT3 and a maximum output of 368 kW (500 PS), it accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 315 km/h.
