In preparation for the 1998 Formula 1 season, Michael Schumacher was able to conduct an extensive test phase in the Ferrari F300 on the Pista di Fiorano, Ferrari's private racing and test track. As these test drives took place before the official release of the F300 racing car, the car was completely covered in black foil.
