The Australian Grand Prix took place on 10 April 2022 at the Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne and covered a distance of 58 laps of 5.278 km, giving a total distance of 306.124 km.
George Russell of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team started the race from position 6 in his Mercedes-AMG F1 W13 E Performance race car. In the third race of the season, Russell put in a strong performance to finish in 3rd place. This was his first podium finish for the Mercedes team.
