Alfa Romeo Racing and the F1™ story
The Italian car manufacturer Alfa Romeo can look back on a history of over 100 years in motorised racing. Especially in the early years of motor sport, the vehicles of the "Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili" (in short: A.L.F.A.) were the measure of all things. So it's probably no surprise that the first titles in Formula 1 history went to the team from Milan in 1950 and 1951.
After the enormously successful early years, the Alfa Romeo factory team withdrew from the premier class F1 and concentrated more on the touring car championships. In the following years, Alfa Romeo continued to be associated with Formula 1 as a supplier of racing engines for renowned teams such as McLaren and Brabham. At the end of the 70s, Alfa Romeo started another engagement with its own works team, which, however, could not continue the old successes and therefore Alfa Romeo withdrew from Formula 1 in the mid 80s.
Today, Alfa Romeo is once again represented in the top class of racing. Together with the Swiss Sauber team, they returned to Formula 1 in 2018 and have been competing as Alfa Romeo Racing since 2019. With Kimi Räikkönen, a former F1 world champion has even been appointed as a regular driver.
In honour of the 110th anniversary, a lifestyle collection has now been launched that combines the flair of the founding era with modern design. Together with other merchandise of the team and their drivers, we offer a wide range of fan clothing such as caps, shirts and jackets to accessories and model cars with Alfa Romeo branding.
